This is About You
Innovation isn't reserved for a select few. It's not about waiting for a lightning bolt of inspiration—it's about learning how to tap into your creativity and applying the right tools and frameworks to bring ideas to life.
With the right mindset, processes, and an understanding of your unique Innovation Style, anyone can become an innovator. Whether you're solving complex problems, improving the everyday, or exploring bold new ideas, innovation is something everyone can do.
Why This Matters
Innovation isn't just about new technologies or groundbreaking inventions—it's about making life better for yourself, your team, and your community.
In a world defined by rapid change, the ability to adapt, embrace new ideas, and solve problems creatively has never been more critical. Whether you're improving a daily task, addressing a societal challenge, or driving business success, innovation is the key to staying resilient and creating meaningful progress.
And here's the secret: You don't need to wait for genius to strike. Innovation is a skill—a process of steps, learning, and action that anyone can master. By understanding how to start small, embrace change, and experiment with ideas, you can unlock your potential to make a difference, no matter the size of the challenge.

Principles of Innovation For Everyone
Innovation is a Process
Creativity thrives when guided by structure. The Innovation Framework breaks the journey into purposeful stages—from inspiration to implementation—ensuring ideas lead to impact.
Everyone Has a Role
People innovate differently. Your Innovation Style—whether you're an idea generator, detail refiner, or action driver—is your superpower. By understanding your style and those of others, you can unlock individual and collective strengths to innovate effectively.
Collaboration Sparks Creativity
The myth of the lone genius ignores the power of diverse teams. The best ideas emerge when people with different skills and perspectives come together to tackle challenges.
Constraints Can Be Catalysts
Boundaries often drive the most creative solutions. Limited resources or tight deadlines push us to think differently and innovate in ways we wouldn't otherwise explore.
Standards Help, Not Hinder
Standards and norms aren't barriers—they're accelerators. They provide a foundation, freeing you to focus on developing transformative ideas instead of reinventing the wheel.
Failure is Educational
Mistakes are part of the journey. Every failure provides invaluable feedback, helping refine ideas, improve processes, and move closer to success.
Who's behind this?

Hi, I'm Josh. I spent over 15 years at NASA working in roles as a systems engineer and technology manager, leading innovative R&D projects to support critical operations and enable human spaceflight.
At the Kennedy Space Center, I co-led the Spaceport Innovators, a team focused on reimagining and transforming the space center during the challenging transition after the Space Shuttle Program ended. It was here that I co-authored an award-winning Guide on How to Be Innovative, offering practical tools, techniques, and tips to employees working in an environment that was not always conducive to innovation.
During this time, I developed the earliest version of the Innovation Framework—a structured approach to navigating challenges and turning ideas into impact. Over the years, this framework has grown into a comprehensive system with distinct Innovation Styles to help individuals and organizations see that, with the right tools, collaboration, and perspective, anyone can be an innovator!
